He did not start the Settimana Lombarda and was replaced by Alberto Tiberio who joined his teammates Paolo Bailetti, Borut Bozic, Riccardo Chiarini, Andreas Dietziker, Raffaele Ferrara, Ignacio Gutierrez, and Nazareno Rossi.
