Raleigh America Inc. and Kenda Tires will sponsor a road racing team in the US this season. Formerly known as DK Cycling, the New England-based team will compete in National Racing Calendar (NRC) and regional road races. Team Director Joe Moody will take over management duties from DK Cycling co-founder Andrew Knight, who will remain on board as advisor.
In recent years the DK Cycling team has been one of the most successful regional teams in the country, posting 17 wins, 39 podium finishes, and 87 top ten finishes last season. Three of last year's riders have also graduated to professional domestic teams, something that Moody takes great satisfaction in. "We are proud to have been able to achieve this level of success at an elite level. Our program allows riders with careers outside of cycling the chance to make the very jump that we all strive for: racing on a domestic pro team."
