Scott USA announced recently that it will become the bicycle, apparel and footwear sponsor to the Ford Women's Cycling Team. "I can't explain how excited I am to be working with Scott next year," said Kelli Emmett. "I have heard only the best about their bike's weight and handling. I can't wait to try out my new Scale. Bring on the climbs and short tracks!"
"This is a great opportunity for us to showcase our already strong Contessa Womens' product, and to develop it further with top level women," said Scott's marketing director Adrian Montgomery. "Female athletes have the most to gain by lowering the overall weight of thier equipment, and a 970 gram carbon frame that can be built into a sub-19 lb race bike represents significant weight savings for the girls and that will equate to better results."
The 2006 roster includes Kelli Emmett, Sara Bresnick-Zocchi, Kathy Sherwin and Melanie Meyers with Chris Davidson and Chris Magerl as management and technical support. The team will contest the NORBA National series as well as selected World Cups.
