Ferrigato stops

Andrea Ferrigato (Acqua&Sapone Adria Mobil) has decided to end his career, aged 35. The Italian has been a pro since 1991 and has 17 wins to his credit, including two World Cup races (Leeds International and GP Suisse in 1996). Although he had a contract for this season, he was no longer motivated to ride and reached an agreement with his friend and team manager Palmiro Masciarelli to rescind his contract. He would like to get involved in the management of a professional cycling team, and will work for saddle manufacturer Selle Italia as of the next Giro d'Italia.
