Second suspension for Team Coast

Germany's Division I Team Coast has once again been suspended from competition by the UCI. In a continuation of ongoing financial problems at the team, the UCI has determined that the riders' salaries for the month of April have not yet been paid. Despite the efforts by both the team and the UCI to straighten out any lingering problems, it appears the concerns have not been adequately addressed. The first suspension of Team Coast was lifted by the UCI on March 19.

In a written statement Thursday, the UCI announced that "reinstatement of [Team Coast] is submitted to the introduction of structural or other measures providing for a sufficient guarantee that the obligations will be executed until the end of the year."

The suspension is effective immediately, meaning Coast is not permitted to participate in any international calendar events.
