2005 Team rosters

Record roster for XXX Racing-AthletiCo

Team to Host Lance Armstrong Junior Olympic Road Series Event in 2005

XXX Racing-AthletiCo, based in Chicago, Illinois, USA, has announced its lineup for the 2005 season. Founded in 1999 by a group of Chicago bike messengers, the club has grown exponentially in each year of its existence. For 2005, XXX Racing-AthletiCo has its largest-ever roster with 105 athletes, solidifying the team's status as one of the most active developmental cycling programs in the country.

XXX Racing-AthletiCo enjoyed a watershed campaign in 2004, recording dozens of podium finishes in races across the Midwest and beyond. Junior standout Rebecca Much brought unprecedented attention to the program by capturing gold medals in the United States Junior Road Race and Time Trial Championships and collecting a silver medal in the Junior Time Trial at the 2004 World Championships in Verona, Italy. She has since signed a professional contract with the T-Mobile Women's Cycling Team. Other top finishes included victories in the Men's ABR 60K Team Trial World Championships, the Team Pursuit Title at the ABR Track National Championships and an overall title by Erik Weisenburger in the B category of the inaugural Chicago Cyclocross Cup Series.

The team's athletes compete in a variety of cycling disciplines, including road racing, mountain biking, triathlons and duathlons, cyclocross and track racing. The team has taken great strides to promote cycling within the community through its juniors program and through the foundation of the Chicagoland Women's Cycling Organization (http://www.chicagolandwomenscycling.org). Highlights of XXX Racing-AthletiCo's 2005 calendar include a Juniors Track Clinic on April 23, Alderman Shirley Coleman and the 16th Ward's Sherman Park Criterium on September 3, and the Chicago Cyclocross Cup in the fall. This year's Sherman Park Criterium has been designated as the season finale of the Lance Armstrong Junior Olympic Road Series and is one of just two LAJORS events in the Midwest (visit http://www.usacycling.org/lajors/).

AthletiCo, a sports medicine and physical therapy chain with 25 locations in Chicagoland, has signed on as XXX Racing's co-title sponsor for a third-consecutive year. Since 1991, AthletiCo has provided outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation including, physical therapy, occupational therapy, sports medicine, work rehabilitation, performing arts rehabilitation, massage therapy, women's health, golf fitness and performance enhancement. Returning sponsors for 2005 include Clif Bar, Yojimbo's Garage, Chicagoland Bicycle Federation, Del Hall Video, The Handlebar and Rudy Project. New sponsors for 2005 include Jittery Joe's Coffee, KindNet.com and Chicago's Goose Island Brewery.

XXX Racing-AthletiCo is coached by Randy Warren, winner of the 1-kilometer road time trial at the 1994 Masters World Championships. Warren has coached recent Olympians and National Champions, and is the former head coach of the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo's collegiate program.
