As with the current XX cassette, the XX1 is mostly machined from a single block of steel to create a hollow, 'domed' structure - only now, the 10T cog is included in the one-piece construction, too. The aluminum innermost cost is replaceable and also dished so that eleven cogs can fit in the space where only ten would normally reside.
