The XX1 lockring is now more of a lock 'tube'. The outermost end is snap-fit into the 10T cog while the other end pulls the cassette onto threads at the base of the freehub body. A Delrin insert inside the lockring tube keeps the whole assembly perfectly centered on the hub. Once tightened, the 10T cog can't pop off, either.
