- Dale Knapp, surrounded here by the "cyclocross guy" fan club (complete with club mullets), won the Master's 40-44 National Championship. Knapp, husband of 2002 National Cyclocross Champion and Women's Elite favorite Ann Knapp, is a fixture in Seattle-area cyclocross and has been performing well even in Elite Men's races this season.
- Due to nasty, wet and freezing conditions racers wore every bit of clothing they could get their hands on during Friday's warm-up sessions.
- Today Mavic support acted not only as mechanics today, but also red cross aid workers for hypothermic riders.
