Alabama state Cyclo-cross championship - Cullman, AL December 17, 2006

A record field enjoyed a beautiful day at Sportsman Lake Park in Cullman where the final round of the Bamacross Series was contested on Dec. 17, 2006. Eric Murphy stamped his authority on the elite race on the second lap to pull clear of fellow Georgian Cleve Blackwood and a strong chase pack that included Mike Hurley, who went on the earn the Alabama State Championship title.

Brandon Sullivan rode a strong race to solo away from the Masters 35+ field. Jim Brock doubled up to first win the Masters 45+ race and later the 3/4 in an epic battle with Dave McNeal that lasted all the way to the line. Other winners on the day were: Cole Davis in the Junior class, Kelly Bownes in the Women 1/2/3, Lisa Geyer in the Women 3/4 and Will Faulk in the kids race.
