Kirsten Frattini is an honours graduate of Kinesiology and Health Science from York University, located on the outskirts of Toronto, Canada. She is a former middle distance runner who turned to professional road cycling in the late 1990s. She spent the better part of a decade competing for US-based trade teams along with her native Canadian National Road Cycling Team.

In 2006 she became a reporter for Cyclingnews.com. As the North American Correspondent, Kirsten is responsible for reporting from US and Canadian professional racing scene with a primary emphasis on road and cyclo-cross disciplines. She has a strong handle on the sport of cycling’s latest and pertinent topics and provides detailed cycling-related news fast. On the rare occasion that she is not sitting at her computer writing, she can be found hitting the trails for long runs with her Jack Russell terrier or road riding with her husband up the scenic and steep ascents of the Appalachian Mountains that surround her adopted hometown of Asheville, North Carolina.
